Chapter 28 — The Male Lead Is a Bit Sick (28)

Feeling movement from the person in his arms, Huo Junhan opened his cold eyes and lowered his head to look at her, frowning as he said, “Get up.”

The cold voice seemed particularly piercing in the cold morning.

Shen Mubai immediately climbed out of his arms, complaining to the system, “What’s the matter with that man? How could I sleep in his arms? Ah, so scary.”

System: “No need to panic, maybe he was afraid you would run away.”

Shen Mubai pondered over those words. The system’s explanation seemed rational enough, so she quickly calmed down.

The other members started to wake up one by one. Shen Changing, who was the last guard, came in.

“Weird, although there are very few zombies near us, we’ll still encounter at least one or two a night. Last night there were none at all!” Shen Changqing said thoughtfully.

An Ning had started to pack things up, but when she heard Shen Changqing’s remark, she stopped and asked excitedly,  “Captain, is it true that there aren’t any zombies?”

Shen Changqing felt that things were not that simple. “I think something is wrong. Let’s go out today to find gas and observe the current situation in D City.”

During breakfast, Huo Junhan still would not eat the food that was provided.

Huo Junhan gave off an oppressive pressure, and because of his temper, Shen Changqing did not dare talk freely. He could only suppress the doubts and questions he had in his heart.

Shen Mubai naturally knew what they were thinking, but she was helpless.

System: “So, when are you going to steal that jade?”

Shen Mubai was busy eating and offhandedly replied, “I don’t know.”

System: “…”

The team planned to leave D City as soon as they found their materials so that they could avoid big zombie gatherings.

The most important thing now was to find gasoline. Shen Changqing planned to head over to a remote gas station and try their luck. The big gas stations in the city were where the zombies gathered the most.

They arrived at the small station and cautiously evaluated their surroundings, only moving in after making sure nothing was wrong.

The place was very quiet; the only sound emitted from their footsteps.

Shen Changqing, the leader of the team, walked ahead, then turned around to make a gesture to Huo Junhan.

“Huo…where did he go?” His quiet voice turned confused.

Shen Mubai looked behind her but the man who had been following her had disappeared.

Usually, members who left the group without permission would generally be condemned and resented by everyone. But, perhaps because Huo Junhan was so oppressive, instead of getting annoyed, Shen Changqing felt relieved.

Shen Mubai, “….” Is it okay for you to be so obvious, Captain?

Shen Changqing suddenly remembered the relationship between Shen Mubai and Huo Junhan and embarrassingly held in his breath of relief.

Qin Yifeng came over to her side and murmured, “Your savior’s strength is too terrible. Even when he was just standing there, I felt like my heart was about to burst. Even our captain was fearful of his strength. Fortunately, we are not enemies.”  Qin Yifeng was finally able to speak his mind without holding back; it felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

VIS: Lmao, noo when you finally need the ML, he disappears. Thumbs down, bad service as a golden thigh
