Chapter 20 — This Male Lead Is A Bit Sick (20)
The system didn’t detect any more energy stones, so Shen Mubai had started to calculate. She calculated the amount of time she had been in this world, which added up to three months.
It was also three months she’d spent with Huo Junhan. Well, it was three months after a day.
She counted her fingers out of boredom and was not aware of the man approaching.
A shadow fell over her, and she complained about the bad lighting, but before she could react, she’d been transported into the apartment. She raised her head blankly and stared into a pair of emotionless, ice-blue eyes.
Huo Junhan looked down at her, his chin lifted up slightly, in the arrogant way of a noble vampire. But in person, Shen Mubai could clearly see his unconcealable cruelty.
Shen Mubai rubbed her eyes and looked at him questioningly.
Huo Junhan extended a slightly pale and slender hand and lifted her chin with two fingers. The sound of his voice was cool, like jade hidden in a glacier. “What did you give me last time?”
Shen Mubai asked the system if she should tell the truth.
“You don’t have to tell the truth, you can change your story. Do you know how?”
Shen Mubai congratulated the system on its solution and assured it that she would do well.
And so, she started from the beginning… She told him she was born with the ability to find energy stones from their energy fluctuations, a power special to her. It was inadvertently discovered by others and she was treated as a monster. Alienated from her family, and a person with no friends. A truly lonely situation, until the end of the world came, and she finally had the chance to find the special stones with unknown effects.
She squeezed out a few drops of tears and told Huo Junhan that he was the first zombie to be so good to her.
Shen Mubai described it in vivid color, to the point that even a rock would feel moved.
If the system hadn’t been in on the whole sham, it would’ve believed her.
But there was still no expression on Huo Junhan’s face. He stared at her and coldly spit out a few words.
“Are you finished?”
Shen Mubai blinked, “Do you want to hear more?”
Not interested in her story, he casually scratched his chin with his nails, his tone dangerous. “You look delicious.” (TL: Then why don’t you bite her…I wanna see grandkids bro.)
Still maintaining his cold expression, he lowered his head and flicked his tongue over the side of her face. He was expressionless, those two ice-cold eyes evoked a sense of hair-raising danger, cold and clammy like maggots on bones. Goosebumps rose on Shen Mubai’s skin.
“If you dare run away, I will bite your neck.”
Huo Junhan left after saying that.
Shen Mubai touched her neck, trembling, and said to the system, “I will never eat duck necks again.”
Shen Mubai heard this and trembled more. “Don’t try to scare me, system.”
“If you let him bite you, you will probably be trapped in this world.” The system said seriously.
Shen Mubai went stark white and didn’t feel like eating the beef jerky in her hands.
The system comforted her, “As long as you do not try to run, Huo JunHan shouldn’t eat…I mean, bite you.”
Shen Mubai didn’t know if she would have any blissful dreams tonight.
She had a nightmare.
